History

In 1940 Mr Archie Ferguson founded the Dorset Horn Stud, which was then absorbed into the Poll Dorset stud that was founded in 1956.

While the Suffolk stud was founded in 1972, and then sold during 1998 along with the Poll Dorset stud. In 2006 the Suffolk Stud re-commenced on a small scale to slowly regain its former successful breading program.
The white Suffolk Stud (no.5) was then formed in 1983.
 Over the years the stud has exhibited at the Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth Royal Shows along with the Hamilton Sheepvention receiving many awards and champions. (As below).
-          In 2009 the stud won 1st August drop ram and the Junior reserve champion ribbon (this ram was sold in partnership to the Tattykeel, Glenarbian and Gemini Studs for $6500.
-          Champion White Suffolk ram at Hamilton Sheepvention in 2008.
-          Champion and reserve champion ewes in 2006 at Adelaide show.
-          Champions and Reserve Champions at the Adelaide and Perth royal shows
-          Several 1st, 2nd and 3rds at the Melbourne show.
-          Supreme champion ewe at Adelaide show on two occasions, and a reserve supreme champion ewe.
Numerous Stud White Suffolk rams have been sold to a top of $9250 and stud ewes up to $1000.
A successful flock ram sale has been held on the property since 1962 with the White Suffolks first being offered in 1986, which was the first stud in Australia to offer White Suffolks.
Lamb plan testing has been a feature of the stud since the testing was first available.
